Overview
At DesignSkye, we manufacture and supply custom-built products designed for their intended purpose and manufactured with reasonable care and skill.
This Warranty Policy applies to products purchased directly through designskye.co.za or directly from DesignSkye within South Africa.
Standard Product Warranty
DesignSkye provides a 12-month limited workmanship warranty from the date of delivery or collection.
This warranty covers:
- Manufacturing defects;
- Faults caused by workmanship;
- Structural failure resulting from normal intended use;
- Material defects identified during the warranty period.
Where a defect covered under this warranty is confirmed, DesignSkye may, at its discretion:
- Repair the product;
- Replace the affected component; or
- Replace the product.
Custom Manufactured Products
Many DesignSkye products are manufactured to order or customised to customer specifications.
Due to the customised nature of these products:
- Orders cannot be cancelled once production has commenced unless required by applicable law;
- Cosmetic variations that do not affect function may occur;
- Measurements, finishes, and fit remain the customer's responsibility where specifications were supplied by the customer.
Customisation does not remove consumer rights under South African law.
What Is Not Covered
This warranty does not cover:
- Normal wear and tear;
- Cosmetic damage after delivery or collection;
- Damage caused by misuse, abuse, neglect, modification, improper installation, accidents, or improper storage;
- Damage caused by use outside intended operating conditions;
- Surface scratches or damage occurring after acceptance;
- Damage resulting from third-party alterations;
- Consumable or replaceable components expected to wear naturally.
Inspection Upon Collection or Delivery
Customers must inspect products upon collection or delivery.
Any visible defects, shortages, or incorrect items should be reported within 48 hours.
Failure to report visible issues within this timeframe may affect available remedies.
Warranty Claims Process
To submit a warranty claim:

Include:
- Order number;
- Customer name;
- Description of issue;
- Clear photographs;
- Date issue was discovered.
DesignSkye may request additional information or inspection before approving a claim.
Repairs and Replacement Timeframes
Approved repairs or replacements will be completed within a reasonable period depending on:
- Manufacturing schedules;
- Parts availability;
- Product complexity.
DesignSkye will communicate expected timeframes once assessment is complete.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted under South African law:
DesignSkye shall not be liable for indirect, consequential, incidental, or special damages including loss of income, business interruption, or third-party costs arising from product use.
Nothing in this policy excludes rights that cannot legally be excluded under the Consumer Protection Act.
Consumer Rights
Nothing in this Warranty Policy limits rights available under:
- Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008;
- Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002;
- Any other applicable South African consumer legislation.
